The girls wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, so I made this since I had none of the boxed cake/jar frosting at home. It came out good...a basic chocolate cake. The frosting was good..it would be good on brownies, too. The cake recipe I found here and the frosting recipe here.
Chocolate Cake
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. baking soda
3 T. cocoa
1 cup sugar
3 T. butter
1/3 cup milk
2 eggs
Put all in a bowl. Mix with a mixer for 3-4 minutes. Pour into greased 9x9 pan and bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
Chocolate Frosting
2 cups confectioners sugar
2 oz butter
3 T cocoa
3 T hot water or milk
Put all in a bowl. Mix with a blender until its nice and smooth like frosting. It takes a few minutes but it will end up just like "real" frosting!
